Advocacy to me means speaking out about what you care about without being afraid of what other might think. Even if you live in a city or country that thinks different than you do, speaking out is always important. This can be as big as protesting or marching or as small as just talking with friends.
My parents and grandparents have always encouraged me to think differently and not be afraid of what others think. I feel lucky to have grown up with people who support me no matter what Petra Cortright is an american artist who uses digital programs to make abstract pictures that resemble oil paintings. Although she is most famous for these paintings, she also makes videos using different filters and effects. cool
1 JFK's inaugural address
2 He talks a lot about the divide in america at the time, both in political views and the economy. In todays america especially after the election our country is more divided then ever. And trumps inaugural address did nothing to help. A good address like Kennedy's brings the country back together after the election to heal our wounds. 3 "The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe" "To those people in the huts and villages of half the globe struggling to break the bonds of mass misery, we pledge our best efforts to help them help themselves, for whatever period is required--not because the communists may be doing it, not because we seek their votes, but because it is right" "If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich." 4 I plan to use both hand drawn text as well as font made in illustrator. Possibly animation 5 Chill but messy "The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe" -John F. Kennedy I think that this quote really holds meaning today for similar and different reasons. We are still very divided between rich and poor and the divide grows bigger and bigger. In most cases we still have the mower to change the outcome of america. The words of a truly iconic president that was taken away too early still impacts the way we think today.
